Presence Caribbean Demythologizes Hell
by staff writer, Jan 12, 2009

Presence Caribbean and the Acts 29 Fellowship on the island of St. Maarten will be hosting a weekend conference on February 27-28.

Tim King of Presence International will be speaking on a variety of topics related to the mythology of hell. He will illustrate the function of “hell” in its historical setting and thereby deconstruct customary views of hell.

King noted, “Ironically a lot of people hold hell in high esteem. But our views of hell have been shaped by premodern stories that most of us are unaware of. When we see those stories, we can reconstruct our world, faith, and life in ways that we are just beginning to imagine.”

Eric Vlaun is the Director of Presence Caribbean. He stated, “We’re excited to explore this timely subject. A reevaluation of hell has the power to set people free.”

Conference participation is free. For more information, contact Presence International.
