| Pikes Peak from the Garden of the Gods |
Effective October 25th, Presence Ministries moved to
Colorado Springs, Colorado. Located 70 miles south of Denver and nestled at the
foot of Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs is home to more than 25 major evangelical
ministries, including Focus on the Family and the International Bible
Society.
Presence Ministries International (PMI) traces its history back to 1971
when Max King published The Spirit of
Prophecy. King claimed Jesus never saw the end of time, only the "time
of the end" of the Old Covenant, at the fall of Jerusalem. Since then King's
writings on "covenant eschatology" have given birth to a Transmillennial® view, for those looking for a post-apocalyptic view of the
Bible.
From 1962 to this year, King lived in Warren, Ohio. He served as minister at
Parkman Road Church of Christ until 1992. In 1997, Max's son, Tim King left a
career in business to join the ministry as president. Since that time the
"founding ministry of fulfilled prophecy" has grown exponentially. This past
Spring the Board of Directors made the decision to relocate the ministry ot
Colorado.
"We feel Colorado Springs provides a perfect place to host conferences and
interact with leaders," Tim King said. Presence Ministries offices will be
located on the north side of Colorado Springs, a block from the Association of
Christian Schools International, with a spectacular view of the Rocky
Mountains.
Concurrent with the move, PMI is launching a new web site, http://www.presence.tv/, offering regular
webcasts of "Presence Today," a show hosted by King. From June 11-14th, PMI will
host its third national conference on covenant eschatology, Transmillennial® 2003 at a retreat center just north of
Colorado Springs.
